Scream’s Ghostface Mortal Kombat 1 Gamplay Trailer Appears

By Kevin KellyNovember 14, 2024
Mortal Kombat 1 Ghostface

Scream’s Ghostface appearing in Mortal Kombat 1 isn’t just about scary movies. Then again, it is. The antagonist from the horror flick is visiting Outworld for his shot at the Mortal Kombat prize as a guest character.

Unfortunately, he’s not going into battles alone. Whatever seemed to release him onto the tournament is probably not anything to help Earthrealm or Fire God Liu Kang. Armed with a combat knife and a brick Motorola, Ghostface isn’t one to mess with.

Ghostface holds a bunch of tactics on them such as crawling moves to avoid projectiles and stabbing his victim’s feet. Since Ghostface is two different people, a switch mechanic is included through moves between both characters. One of them seems to possess a somersault kick. The other has a knife throw and a ball move similar to Kano’s. Ghostface has some command moves with a lot of exposure to long-range attacks if not planned.

Ghostface’s fatality move has two Ghostfaces nearly go fourth wall, slashing both the opponent and an unexpecting Johnny Cage, who seems to be playing the losing character who’s about to be killed. Both Johnny, from the comfort of his home, and the victim onscreen both get stabbed at the same time.

Ghostface will be available for early access from the Khaos Reigns DLC starting on November 19th. Replay Takeover and huge balance changes are coming on the same day such as a detonator to Frost’s Ice Wall cameo attack.

Ghostface seems to be three people from the roster. As to who they can be, Rooflemonger seems to have a good clue, pointing to some of the Black Dragon members from Mortal Kombat’s past.
