Amazon Is Officially Making A Mass Effect TV Series

Please be good. PLEASE BE GOOD!!!

Mass Effect

We live in a society…oh, wait, we live in a period where lots of video game properties are being developed for TV or movies, and in recent times…it’s worked out well more times than not. The Last of Us, Sonic The Hedgehog, The Super Mario Bros Movie, the Castlevania anime and a few others stand out as great examples of legitimate gaming adaptations. One franchise that has long been speculated to be getting an adaptation was Mass Effect, the beloved trilogy from Bioware (we don’t talk about Andromeda!). Today, Variety confirmed that it would be developed for TV via Amazon Prime Video, and it has a writer/executive producer via Daniel Casey, who you might know from the Fast & Curious franchise.

Others attached to the adaptation include Michael Gamble, who worked on the games and is still at Bioware despite, well, everything that’s happened to the company post-ME3. The biggest question that many will have about the TV adaptation is how they’ll adapt the Mass Effect plot. If it’s less than ten episodes, they’ll have to cut or streamline certain things from the first game. The universe has a rich lore that can’t be ignored if they want quality, so many will be on pins and needles while things get worked out.

We’re in for a treat if this is anything like the Fallout series that Amazon Prime Video put out. If it’s not, then you can expect plenty of backlash from fans.
