If you didn’t know, today is “The Last of Us Day,” and both Naughty Dog and HBO decided that today would be a perfect day to drop a new trailer for The Last Of Us Season 2. Specifically, the first official teaser trailer that gives us plenty of looks into what the new season will bring. As you’ll see below, things aren’t so cozy between Joel and Ellie, and even as they’re trying to live a peaceful life out in Jackson with Tommy, things go awry very quickly.
The trailer shows massive amounts of infected trying to break into their home, the arrival of Abby, a tease of Ellie’s partner, and Joel trying to come to grips with all he’s done.
It’s important to remember that while The Last of Us Season 2 does follow the beats of the second game, it will take time to expand certain characters and backstories. Furthermore, the season won’t cover the full game. Instead, they’re breaking it up into multiple seasons to ensure that everything has its due.
