Assassin’s Creed Shadows Not Playable At MCM x EGX 2024

As you may have already heard, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was recently delayed to February 14, 2025. The game was originally scheduled to be playable at this year’s MCM x EGX in the UK from October 25-27; however, as expected, that is no longer the case.

You can see the official announcement below.

Unfortunately Assassin’s Creed Shadows will no longer be playable at MCM x EGX after the decision to push the game’s release date to 14 February. We appreciate this will be disappointing news, but we can’t wait to share more games you can try out at the show. https://t.co/7OKLPZEIZT

For me, this is definitely a disappointment, given that the latest Assassin’s Creed was one of the games I was most looking forward to getting hands-on with at MCM x EGX this year. Considering the game’s recent delay, I am not surprised. We will, of course, keep you updated on Assassin’s Creed Shadows between now and its release. Here’s hoping that we do get a chance for some hands-on time with the game in the not-too-distant future.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an upcoming title in the Assassin’s Creed series, set in Japan during the Edo period. It introduces players to a new protagonist, an assassin navigating the dangerous political and cultural landscape of feudal Japan. The game highlights stealth, parkour, and a mix of traditional combat and ninjutsu, letting players explore historical cities, temples, and the countryside. The story delves into loyalty, honor, and rebellion against oppressive forces while adding fresh gameplay mechanics that build on the series’ iconic formula.

Shadows will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC (including Day One on Steam) on February 14th, 2025.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
