Nintendo Is Working Hard To Prevent Leaks Of Both Games And Switch 2 Details

Leakers...BE GONE!!!!

As we’ve noted multiple times on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, it can be incredibly tiring dealing with all the rumors and leaks that are put out there by “people in the know.” If they are right, it’s sad that they ruined something early. If they’re wrong, then it was annoying to believe that they might have been right, and got our hopes up. Between games, consoles, and even Pokemon leaks, The Big N has had plenty of things spoiled over the years. Thankfully, they’re finally ready to put a stop to it!

During a shareholders meeting, Nintendo noted that it’s doing multiple things to try and stop leaks from happening, including bringing in some special security teams and doing special training to ensure the buck stops here:

Nintendo says it’s aware of recent leaks and has taken steps to prevent them (including working with external companies to diagnose leaks)

“The company has introduced new measures to its security systems, it said, and it’s also working to educate employees about IT security.”… pic.twitter.com/kSoj0L4se4

This also applies to the upcoming Switch 2, which has had TONS of “leaks and reports” about it in 2023 and 2024. Insider Stealth also quoted the shareholder’s meeting and stated:

Shareholders didn’t specifically ask about Switch 2, only saying that it contributes to Nintendo’s earnings forecasts being so unpredictable.

Nintendo responded by stressing how important surprises are and that they aren’t willing to reveal the products they are working on, thus… pic.twitter.com/rPkvVhLofJ

Personally, we totally want Nintendo to feel as though they can make something without things getting immediately spoiled or revealed right before an announcement. As the last Nintendo Direct proved, surprises can make for great reactions.
