The Pokemon Franchise Has Sold Almost 100 Million Units On Switch

By Todd BlackMay 15, 2024
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Review, The Pokemon Company, Nintendo Music

That’s an interesting title, isn’t it? That the Pokemon franchise has almost sold 100 million gaming units on JUST the Nintendo Switch? And yet, it’s a real number. You can see the graph for yourself below. Between games like Scarlet & Violet, Legends Arceus, the Let’s Go titles, Sword and Shield, and the numerous spinoffs in between, it adds up to almost 100 million units sold. I’m a diehard franchise fan, and I almost can’t believe it. It really highlights how popular the series still is and how many units the Switch has sold to help allow this.

The Switch is the most successful platform for the Main Pokemon Series with over 96m units shipped so far.
Surpassing the GB and GBA total of 75.81m units.
And that's with another Switch entry to launch in 2025. https://t.co/UbNtLncL51 pic.twitter.com/ElqCoNvIMN

Oh, and as I teased, let’s not forget that Pokemon Legends Z-A is apparently coming to Switch, and if it comes out before the Switch successor, that means that all the focus will be on that one system and push it well over 100 million.
