Batman: Caped Crusader Coming To Amazon Prime Video In August

By Todd BlackMay 9, 2024
Batman: Caped Crusader

There have been numerous animated adaptations of Batman over the years. But for many, including myself, Batman The Animated Series from the 1990s was the best. It had the best look, a stacked voice-acting cast, and incredible stories, and it set the tone for generations to come. Others have tried to take the character in different directions, but all comparisons come back to Batman TAS. However, with the upcoming Batman: Caped Crusader, things might change in that regard, as a powerhouse of storytellers and directors have come together to make this series, which will officially debut on Amazon Prime Video on August 1st.

If you don’t recall, Warner Bros Discovery ordered this series for two seasons, but then they decided (for whatever stupid reason) not to air it on their own streaming service, Max. So, Amazon bought it, and with J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm at the wheel, we might be in for something special.

The tweet below doesn’t just showcase the release date for Batman: Caped Crusader, but there’s a thread of images showing off characters like Batman, Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Commissioner Gordon, a new take on Harley Quinn, and even Clayface!

The team has promised darker stories that even Batman TAS couldn’t deliver due to the time period. Plus, the entire first season will drop at once on Prime Video. We’ll see how it all works out!
