The upcoming Sonic 3 film has many people excited, especially if the rumors about Keanu Reeves being Shadow The Hedgehog are true. But just as important, fans are curious about how much the movie will reference the games featuring Shadow. The good news is that one of the film’s producers, Toby Ascher, talked with GamesRadar+ and stated that they’d be taking a lot of reference from a certain Dreamcast game: Sonic Adventure 2.
“It’s going to be this giant, fun, incredible movie that obviously takes a lot from Sonic Adventure 2 and some of the games that I know the core Sonic Team grew up loving,” Ascher noted.
That was the game that introduced Shadow, and Sonic 3 will likely be covering his massive backstory with the Robotniks and beyond. But, we also could get some big team-ups given certain monsters that show up in that game, as well. We’ll find out in December how it all pans out!
