‘Godzilla Minus One’ Arrives On Amazon Prime Video In Japan on May 3rd

By Keith MitchellApril 16, 2024

Over the past year, the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, has seen a resurgence in the box office, and as a love time fan, you love to see it. Now, while the US received that “so-so” film, ‘Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire,’ other parts of the world received the vastly superior film, ‘Godzilla Minus One,’ which was super frustrating. But now, Amazon has revealed that ‘Godzilla Minus One’ is set to head to the streaming service very soon.

According to multiple sources, Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that ‘Godzilla Minus One’ will be available to stream as of May 3rd, 2024, but only in Japan. What hasn’t been confirmed is whether this will extend globally and let other regions get in on the fun. Thankfully, if that isn’t the case, this little thing called a VPN will finally enable us all to watch what many deem the best Godzilla film.

Unlike Godzilla’s recent pairings with Kong, ‘Godzilla Minus One’ takes the nuclear-powered beast back to his back to his roots in post-WWII Japan, while the visuals are amazing, and the plot is much easier to follow. Sadly, this has been mostly a Japan-only affair; with the film being available in the US, it wasn’t in theaters for very long.

Should streaming not be your cup of tea, it was also announced not too long ago that Godzilla Minus One would also be arriving on Blu-ray and DVD, but yet again, exclusively in Japan, on May 1st, 2024. Both media formats are currently up for pre-order on Amazon Japan, should you want to order a copy for yourself. Just keep in mind that there’s no English dubbing or subtitles.Godzilla Minus One Amazon Prime
