Fallout TV Show Debuting Earlier Than Originally Announced

The Vault Opens Early

The much-anticipated Fallout show will arrive sooner than Amazon Prime originally stated. Adapting the long-running video game series, the show tells the story of a brutal and bizarre post-apocalyptic America and its survivors. And now, viewers can watch the show starting today. Instead of April 12th, Fallout will debut on Prime tonight, April 10th, at 6pm Pacific Time.

Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy have adapted the show for Prime. All eight episode will arrive tonight, so those who want to binge the apocalyptic program can do so. The show stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and more. Goggins himself announced the new premier date in a short ad. Check it out below.

It’s an exciting time for post-apocalyptic video game TV adaptations, as The Last of Us saw a well-received adaptation last year. Fallout seems to be in good company, as early reviews have proven overwhelmingly positive on Rotten Tomatoes. And with this early debut, you can soon find out for yourself how this adapted apocalypse stacks up.

Unlike The Last of Us, which adapted the first game with its first season, Fallout will tell an original story. Set in the world of the games, the Prime show takes place after them. Set in Southern California, it will focus on a new Vault and its Vault-Dwellers. That said, it will still feature iconic aspects of the series such as ghouls, power armor, and The Brotherhood of Steel. And, of course, it will be chaotically violent.

Bethesda, which acquired the Fallout series in 2007, floated ideas of turning the game into a TV series since Fallout 3 released in 2008. That said, none of the pitches won over executive producer Todd Howard. That all changed when Jonathan Nolan pitched his vision. Tonight, we’ll see this vision realized.

A big fan of Final Fantasy VII, Uncharted, and Metal Gear Solid, Andrew loves great stories and any and all things horror flavored. He also works in the world of interactive theater, its own kind of gaming. Andrew gets his powers from listening to indie folk music and drinking aloe water.
