Akuma Joins Street Fighter 6 With New Trailer

The iconic fighter Akuma has been unveiled as the newest addition to Street Fighter 6 with a thrilling gameplay trailer premiered at Evo Japan. Fans of the series can look forward to playing as Akuma starting May 22.

This latest trailer showcases Akuma in all his glory, highlighting his upgraded moves and his more beast-like design. His attacks are more explosive, promising an intense gaming experience.

Capcom confirmed Akuma as the final DLC character for the game’s first season. This marks the end of the initial phase of post-release content with a spectacular finale. Moreover, Capcom has announced another year of the Capcom Pro Tour, featuring a prize pool of one million dollars.

The reveal happened just before the grand finals of Evo Japan’s Street Fighter 6 tournament. The event saw top players competing for the prestigious first-place prize, rounding out an eventful weekend.

Capcom also shared a glimpse of Akuma’s gameplay which demonstrates his power and unique fighting style. His techniques are akin to other fighters like Ryu and Ken but come with a slower, more impactful approach.

With the release of Akuma, Street Fighter 6 will also introduce a free update that includes balance changes across all characters. Details about this update will be shared in the upcoming weeks.
