New Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Summons The Banished

By Todd BlackAugust 6, 2023
Mortal Kombat 1

Fans are getting more excited about Mortal Kombat 1 with each trailer that arises. The team at NetherRealm Studios has done its best to showcase the new world and “updated” roster through a series of special trailers that highlight the revised universe that Liu Kang has created. Ed Boon has been making some teases known in the Twitter-verse, and one of them was that fan-favorite character Reptile would return. Sure enough, at EVO 22023, the team dropped a new trailer, and it confirms Reptile’s arrival, albeit not the one you’re probably expecting.

Much like many other characters, Reptile has been reborn as a new character who can be his “natural lizard form” but also be a human, which makes him an outcast among his people. But don’t worry; his lizard body is key in his attacks and fatalities. The other two Kombatants were probably surprises too many, as we see the return of Ashrah, who made her debut in Mortal Kombat: Deception…and really hasn’t been seen since.

The “purified demon” is brought with Reptile to be a part of Liu Kang’s new Earthrealm fighters, and they’re going to have their hands full due to enemies like Havik, who also debuted in Deception. His new form is quite terrifying with what he does in combat, so check out the full Mortal Kombat 1 trailer below.

Mortal Kombat 1 releases on September 19, 2023 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
