DSTLRY Previews The Devil’s Cut Ahead of August 30 Release

By Josh PiedraAugust 23, 2023

DSTLRY today revealed lettered preview pages from all 11 stories featured in its debut release, The Devil’s Cut. Garnering over 50,000 orders from comic book retailers, The Devil’s Cut is an 88-page, premium format one-shot that hails from the fearless minds of DSTLRY’s Founding Creators and friends.

The Devil’s Cut showcases an eclectic blend of genres from sci-fi, westerns, and thrillers to introspective contemplations on the human experience and a captivating collection of haunting horrors. Building upon the art previews DSTLRY teased earlier this year, the long-awaited lettered editions of these pages provide an immersive dive into the next era of creator-owned comics, offering a blend of novelty, intellectual stimulation, and visual marvel that pushes the boundaries of artistic storytelling.

Readers will be able to continue the journeys they embark on with The Devil’s Cut, as characters, worlds, and concepts introduced in eight of the 11 featured stories will continue in full-fledged series launching throughout 2023 and 2024, beginning this October with GONE, the first creator-owned project as both writer and artist from Eisner-Award winning creator Jock (Snow Angels, Wytches, Batman: One Dark Knight).

“Our expectations for The Devil’s Cut have been exceeded every step of the way and we are tremendously thankful for the resoundingly positive reception to DSTLRY’s debut publication so far,” said DSTLRY co-founders David Steinberger and Chip Mosher in a joint statement. “The Devil’s Cut stands as a harbinger of our unwavering commitment to forging the future of comics and a testament to the truly boundless talent of our Founding Creators, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it next week.”

The Devil’s Cut is available now for pre-order and will be on sale at local comic shops on August 30.
