Alan Wake 2 Delayed from October 17 to October 27

Alan Wake 2

Remedy Entertainment has announed that it has decided to delay the upcoming Horror Survival title, Alan Wake 2. Now, instead of releasing on October 17, 2023, the game is now being pushed a  week and a few days to October 27, 2027. As you can see, that’s not a massive delay and is only 10 days, but it definitely makes sense as to why this was done.

You see, October 2023 is full of games, and some very big names, including Lords of the Fallen, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a few others. Remedy likely didn’t want to have Alan Wake 2 lost in the line-up. But if you ask me, I would have probably pushed the delay until November 2023, as there are fewer games being released that month.

Here’s the full announcement of the delay of Alan Wake 2:

An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we’re moving Alan Wake 2’s launch from October 17 to October 27.

October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games.

We can’t wait to show you what everyone’s favorite novelist is up to in the Dark Place next week. Thanks for your patience!

Alan Wake 2 will now be released on October 27, 2023, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC (via Epic Games). Only time will tell if this delay will help the sales for Alan Wake 2, but there’s zero doubt that this game won’t be a massive seller. Fans of Alan Wake, myself included, have been waiting on this game for years. Heck, I’ll buy two copies.

Oh, and don’t forget that Alan Wake 2 is being sold as a digital-only game.
