Here’s your first look at some Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay

During the Summer Game Fest, we finally got our first look (taste) of the upcoming reboot, Mortal Kombat 1. Yes, friends, it’s finally here. Lots of devastating Fatal Blows, brutal Fatalities, and defensive Breakers, and more.

You can check out this gameplay in all its amazing yet gory action below. In addition to the gameplay, we also got to see how the Kameo Fighters worked, as they were called in to perform attacks and are similar to that of Dragon Ball FighterZ and Marvel vs. Capcom. Doing the show, we did get to see several familiar faces as Kaemo Fighters, including Stryker, Kano, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, and Jax, with more later.

We also had the co-founder of the Mortal Kombat series, Ed Boon, give us a rundown of the game and how happy he is to show it off, and how hard it was to keep this game under wraps.

Mortal Kombat 1 marks a new beginning for the franchise, and stories that we once knew will be changed, all thanks to a new timeline. So far, we know that characters Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and Kenshi Takahashi will be playable, with more to come as well.

For everything we know about Mortal Kombat 1, be sure to check out our “Everything we know about Mortal Kombat 1” article.

Mortal Kombat 1 releases on September 19, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
