Pokémon GO Plus +: Everything We Know So Far

By Faith LaneMay 24, 2023

The Pokémon GO Plus + is a small button-looking device that helps trainers get better sleep and also catch more Pokémon. Now the main question is, how exactly does it do that? The Bluetooth smart device is supposedly going to run on low-energy technology and link to both the Pokémon GO and upcoming Pokémon Sleep apps. Furthermore, it’ll Bluetooth to the user’s smartphone to track their sleeping patterns and their steps.

Let’s dive more into that, shall we?

Pokémon GO Plus + Will Help Users Get More Sleep

Once the Pokémon Sleep app releases this summer, players can connect this device to their smartphone and press the button in the middle. Doing so will activate it to document the user’s sleep based on their movements. The Amazon listing shows the device sitting on the user’s pillow, while the trailer for Pokémon Sleep says users can place their phone on their side table, and it’ll still keep track of their sleep. The theory is the Pokémon GO Plus + will better track the user’s movements while having it as close to them as possible.

The Pokémon Sleep app will track users’ sleep based on whether they are in a deep sleep, a dreaming state, or restless, and that will determine what Pokémon can be collected toward finalizing the Pokédex. The Pokémon Go Plus + also contains a Pikachu inside that will sing users lullabies to help them sleep but also act as an alarm in the mornings too. The longer that the device is used, the friendlier Pikachu is supposed to become. So you’ll be “raising” a Pokemon while it also helps you sleep! Neat.

How The Device Will Work With Pokémon Go

As mentioned above, this cute little button device will not only connect with Pokémon Sleep but also Pokémon GO. Its purpose will be to automatically pin PokéStops and/or throw Poké Balls without pressing a button. This means users can slip the device into their pocket or bag to collect rewards and get Pokémon while they are out and about doing their daily life. Connecting Pokémon GO Plus + with the Pokémon GO mobile app will also let players take on some Special Research for the opportunity to catch a Snorlax with a nightcap.
