Gundam Battle Operation 2 finally makes its PC debut on May 31

After its fair share of issues on being ported over to the PC, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 will be released on May 31, 2023, and is available to pre-download on Steam.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 is a free-to-play 6 vs. 6 online game that includes Gacha mechanics that started off on the PS4 and eventually ported to the PS5.

When released, Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 will feature over 350 mobile suits to collect, all of which will be playable across 17 maps taken from the iconic Mobile Gundam Suit anime.

Now, after several network tests, and a delay, the title will grace the PC. And while the news may excite Mecha-loving PC gamers, GBO2 isn’t as fast-paced as the other 6 vs. 6 Gundam title, Gundam Evolution, so there may be some learning adjustments when finally stepping into that cockpit.

If you want to get a leg up on the competition, be sure to check out NewtypeSeiji’s Gundam Battle Operation 2 Beginner’s Guide. I know I will be.

That said, I do fear Gundam Battle Operation 2 hitting the PC within a few months of another Mecha game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, being released for the PC.

That and the game will not support cross-play or cross-save, which contributed to the slow-death Gundam Evolution on the PC. The PS4 and PS5 versions benefit from a large player pool, but it will remain to be seen if the same will be for the PC.

Despite being a massive Gundam fan, I’ve yet to play Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 as I was holding off for it to be released for the PC. Now that this is happening, I have no excuse anymore.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 releases for PC on May 31, 2023.
