The CATAN Championships are back in 2023, with State Championships starting on 13 May in QLD. The National Championship will be held in ACT on 19 August, with winners of each State tournament vying for a seat in the Top 16. Players don’t have to qualify at State Championships to enter the National Championships. Assets can be found here.

The 2022 CATAN World Champion is Hamish Dean, who hailed from New Zealand and clinched the title in Malta last year beating 85 other competitors. Hamish also gets a seat and a trip to the next World Championship in 2024, as they’re held every two years. The tournament first started in 1995 in Germany and expanded internationally in the following years.
