Speaking as an original fan, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was a show that affected me heavily as a child, to the extent that I would watch the franchise for the next 20 years and support it in numerous ways. I even did a countdown of the franchise in its various forms to showcase which was the best…and not the best. Even now, the franchise is going strong in live-action, game, and comic book form. Next month, Netflix brings the next edition in its history with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, a celebration of the original team and all that’s happened since.
As we see in the story trailer below, Rita Repulsa has somehow come back to life, and she’s targeting the original MMPR team, even killing Trini (who sadly died many years ago, but is being honored here.) Now, Zach, Billy, Rocky, and Catherine must team up to take her down before she rewrites history. There are numerous nods to the original MMPR teams, and we get to see them battle in costumes, and with better special effects, we’ll even get to see the OG Megazord again!
