Jon Bernthal Is To Return As The Punisher In Daredevil: Born Again

By Faith LaneMarch 7, 2023

The news we have all been waiting for has finally happened. Jon Bernthal is returning as The Punisher in the MCU, alongside many familiar faces we all have seen in the past Daredevil and The Punisher series. This is something many fans, including myself as a die-hard fan of Bernthal, have been waiting for since the cancellation of the series on Netflix a couple of years ago.

Once everyone got the news that Charlie Cox was getting his new series on Disney+ called Daredevil: Born Again, rumors, speculations, and hopes of Frank Castle returning were all over the internet, and they haven’t stopped yet. Today, we finally got the good news that Jon Bernthal will be returning in Daredevil: Born Again, with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio,  who are also on the cast list for the show. The series began filming in New York this month, March 2023, and it will have 18 episodes in its first season, which is a lot more than the normal amount for Disney+ shows that only get about 6 or 9.

Born Again will be following right after the Daredevil series, which ran from 2013-2018. However, this isn’t Matthew Murdock’s first appearance in the MCU since his series. No, he has also appeared in No Way Home and She-Hulk. But now, the bad news is Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, are not on the casting list for the series.

This definitely throws a wrench into the idea we all had of what Born Again would be like. Without Karen Page, who was Matt’s love interest for many seasons and best friend Foggy Nelson, will the show even feel like Daredevil? We will have to wait and see.
