Exoprimal gets a release date, open beta, battle pass, and more

Capcom’s upcoming dinosaur online shooting game that isn’t Dinocrisis, Exoprimal, was given a release date during the March 9th, 2023, Capcom Spotlight. Exoprimal will launch on July 14, 2023, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox and PC Game Pass.

The game will also launch with a battle pass called the Survival Pass, which includes a free and paid tier. Originally eight suits were shown; however, two more were introduced today, bringing the total number of available playable suits to ten.

Alongside the launch news, Exoprimal will also have an open beta for all platforms, which will take place from March 17 to 19, 2023. All ten suits will be playable in this open beta.

Sadly, with the good comes some bad; Capcom has revealed that the title now has an “always online” requirement.  I’m not sure that charging full price for a game like this is a good idea. We’ve all seen what happens to games that have gone this route. As for Exoprimal’s future, we’ll have to see how this affects the game.

What are your thoughts on Exoprimal? Are you looking forward to the open beta, and how does the season pass news sound to you? Sound off in the comments.
