Over the weekend, Capcom hosted its final Street Fighter 5 event, Capcom Cup IX, which saw MenaRD emerge as a two-time Capcom Cup winner. Now, with Street Fighter 6 on the horizon, Capcom has raised the stakes and revealed that when the next Capcom Cup takes place, it will do so with 1 million to be awarded to the winner.

While Capcom Cup X will feature over 2 million in prize money, whoever takes the top spot will instantly become a millionaire. As you can imagine, this is Capcom’s way to ensure that everyone who’s anyone will drop Street Fighter 5 in favor of Street Fighter 6. It will be interesting to see if this will propel Capcom’s upcoming flagship fighter to the lofty heights that the company is looking forward to seeing.

Capcom Cup X will be played on Street Fighter 6 with the winner receiving a whopping $1,000,000!
