FIFA 23 Tops UK Software List For 2022

By Todd BlackJanuary 5, 2023
FIFA 23

With the past year…um…in the past…many are crunching the numbers to see how well games and consoles did in certain regions. In the UK, the Nintendo Switch was able to edge out the PS5 and take the top spot hardware-wise. But as for software? That crown belongs to FIFA 23. That result shouldn’t surprise too much due to not only the World Cup being in 2022, but the UK region contains the ‘diehards’ of the sport who happily play the game every chance they get.

The rest of the list is pretty interesting, though it should be noted for the Nintendo titles that digital sales aren’t included.

GameIndustry.biz gave the results from the UK, and here are the top 20 games that sold in the region last year:

  1. FIFA 23 (EA)
  2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision Blizzard)
  3. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Warner Bros)
  4. Elden Ring (Bandai Namco)
  5. Grand Theft Auto 5 (Rockstar)
  6. God of War Ragnarok (Sony)
  7. FIFA 22 (EA)
  8. Horizon: Forbidden West (Sony)
  9. Red Dead Redemption 2 (Rockstar)
  10. Nintendo Switch Sports (Nintendo)*
  11. Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Nintendo)*
  12. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe (Nintendo)*
  13. Gran Turismo 7 (Sony)
  14. Pokémon Violet (Nintendo)*
