We all knew that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would sell big on the Nintendo Switch. The hype for the games was huge, and the Switch has over 114 million units sold at this point. Someone was going to buy those games. The only question was, how many? Well, we have that answer, and it’s HUGE! As in, the game sales are huge, really huge, record-breaking, etc. As you’ll see in the tweet below, the games sold a combined 10 million units worldwide…in just three days!
To put that in context for you, when Pokemon Legends Arceus came out in January, it sold 6.5 million in its first week! So Gen 9 eclipsed that game by quite a margin in half the time pretty much. Plus, as the statement from The Pokemon Company notes, it’s the BIGGEST 3-day launch in the history of Nintendo software.

So yeah, that means despite all the flaws and bugs, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are now the best-selling games in Nintendo history. That’s awesome. Now let’s see if they can fix what they’ve made. Stay tuned for our review!
