Nier: Automata Head Wants 2B or 9S in Smash Bros?

NieR: Automata

We all have disappointments in life, some bigger than others. You’d think that Yoko Taro, the director and writer for Nier: Automata, would be on top of the world right now thanks to the successful porting of the game onto Nintendo Switch. The game has been selling well for five years and if it gets a boost on the Switch things will be even better, right? Well, in an interview with NintendoLife, the mysterious creator was asked about the Switch port and said bluntly:

“I am hugely disappointed that we did not make it in time to get into Smash Bros…“

It’s not hard to guess whom he might want in Smash Bros, as both 2B and 9S are beloved characters within the title. Now that they are on Switch, the “3rd-party rule” can apply to them. Then again, we don’t know if another game in the series is coming. So he might have to live with his disappointment for a while…
