The Callisto Protocol Trailer Reveals the Truth of Black Iron

By Keith MitchellSeptember 29, 2022
The Callisto Protocol - Danny Nakamura

Striking Distance Studios has released a new teaser trailer for The Callisto Protocol was released, and damn, it looks good.

Last week I received a cryptic text message last week that something regarding The Callisto Protocol would be released. I had assumed it would be some new trailer of sorts, and I’m glad to see I was correct. Today, we received a new two-minute trailer that shows off more of the game, and if I wasn’t already excited, I am not.

While we had already received several looks at the game, nothing compares to what we’ve seen today. More ways to die or be killed, and more of the environment, with several locations being shown. We’re also being shown secrets hidden behind the Black Iron prison, so a bit of the story is also being shown and includes some spoilers that I won’t spoil.

But more importantly, we’re seeing for the first time Karen Fukuhara’s in-game character, Danny Nakamura. I wish they didn’t show her yet, but I’m glad to see her in-game model does her justice. She’s another important part of the game and will help Jacob survive Black Iron Prison.

Check out the trailer below.

The Callisto Protocol looks horrifying, and damn I haven’t waited to play a horror game in ages. As a massive fan of the first Dead Space games, I’ve been waiting for a new horror sci-fi title, and this is it. Ironically, The Callisto Protocol is being helmed by the creator of Dead Space, Glen Schofield. This man knows his horror genre, and come December 2022, I’m sure he will make quite a few of us produce some skid marks in our undies.

Let’s not forget The Callisto Protocol Collectors Edition, which comes complete with a statue featuring Jacob as he faces off against one of the grotesque Biophage. Oh yes, I already preordered mine. Did you?

The Callisto Protocol releases on December 2nd, 2022, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
