Cuphead is Finally Getting A Physical Edition, iam8bit will handle

Cuphead physical edition

Studio MDHR, the developer of that hard-as-heck platformer, Cuphead, has revealed that the game will see a physical release for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. This announcement just happens to come on Cuphead’s 5th-year anniversary. It’s been five years, and I’m sure the game is still causing people to toss controllers into floors and walls.

When Cuphead was originally released, it was a digital-only release. Since then, gamers have asked Studio MDHR to release a physical edition. Finally, the studio has heard those requests and has responded as such. The physical edition will also include Cuphead’s recently released DLC, The Delicious Last Course.

Iam8bit will handle the physical edition of Cuphead. However, there’s currently no mention of the release date or pricing. To find out more about the pending physical Cuphead release, you can sign up at iam8bit’s email form, and you’ll be fed lots of information on it and other titles.

Sadly, there won’t be a physical edition for the PC.

On Cuphead’s 5th anniversary, we’re overjoyed to say: the game is Coming Soon to retail stores everywhere!! It will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Switch…including The Delicious Last Course!

Cuphead was released as an Xbox-only (and PC) title on September 29th, 2017. It was believed the game would be an Xbox exclusive then, but it eventually made its way over to the PlayStation, Switch, and even mobile devices/handhelds. Since then, Cuphead has been a game that has frustrated and delighted gamers everywhere. More recently, the first (and only) DLC for the game, The Delicious Last Course, was released on June 30th, 2022, despite being announced at E3 2018.

Despite Cuphead being a “hard game,” I love it. Sure, I enjoy hard games, which is why I enjoy Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and games of that genre. Some say I have issues, but I enjoy a challenge. Then again, I grew up playing NES games, such as Mega Man (now, that’s a hard game), Battletoads, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and so many others I don’t want to mention because they bring up nightmares.

If you haven’t played Cuphead yet, give it a try. Besides, the game also includes an easy mode so that you won’t be tossing your controllers… as much. And if even the game ends up kicking your ass (it will), you’ll do so with some one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard in a video game.
