Update: Wonder Woman is Fixed in MultiVersus Season One Updated

By Keith MitchellAugust 15, 2022
MultiVersus

Update 2: It looks like everything is finally addressed, at least for online play. Tony has stated a new server-side fix went out yesterday, and I can confirm after several matches this morning that Wonder Woman is no longer causing damage to herself.

A sever-side fix is going out now. There are a number of band-aid fixes to instant cooldowns, WW damaging herself, and Arya up special. The correct fixes will come with Patch 2 coming (very soon). We're very sorry for the experience ruining bugs. #MultiVersus

Update: Not too long after this article went up, Tony Huynh, co-founder of Player First Games, mentioned that several bugs were addressed. One such bug is Wonder Woman hitting herself. Tony has stated that this has been addressed, but only for online play.

We're aware of a few issues and have a server-side fix coming soon. We have a fix for the rating bug. We're disabling the cooldown return on Velma book (until patch 2), WW hitting herself is fixed (online play only), Arya up special hit stun issues will be addressed #MultiVersus

However, as I painfully realized, this bug is definitely still in play. Upon jumping into an online game, I noticed that Wonder Woman is still smacking herself in the face during combat. So I thought to myself, why not record it so that Tony could see that this was still occurring. So that’s what I did.

In this video below, you can see during the 46-second and 58-second marks that despite performing WW’s charge, I was still getting damaged. However, I wasn’t getting bounced by like you normally would be if the move whiffed or if your opponent was able to armor through it. I connected with the charge but still received some damage.

Needless to say, WW smacking her in the face during combat is still happening. And I wondered why I was taking so much damage early in the battles.

Original story below.

Today, the first patch of MultiVersus Season One was released, and there are some shenanigans going on. Specifically, Wonder Woman is completely broken. Which stinks as she’s kind of my favorite character.

Heading to the lab to see how she plays with her new buffs, I noticed that after doing a bit of damage to an opponent, Wonder Woman would also start to take damage herself. At first, I thought I was seeing things and started over. Nope, the same thing. She is definitely taking damage after doing damage to an opponent. It appears to happen randomly, but charged attacks seem to make this glitch happen more than regular moves. Regardless, this is completely random at times. At times I’d do less damage. Other times I’d do way more.

So far, I’ve only been able to recreate this on the PC, and I haven’t tried this on the other platforms or other characters that this may have affected. When I do, I’ll update the article.

Check out the video below to see that I’m definitely not going crazy.

Now, I get it. Patches are a big thing, and not everything can be caught. But this is inexcusable and should have been caught by quality control. Regardless of how it happened, this has basically broken Wonder Woman. For now, until a bug fix is released, DO NOT PLAY AS WONDER WOMAN. If you do, you’re just giving your opponent easy damage.

Dang, now I gotta find a new character to play with until she’s fixed.
