Street Fighter 6 Adds Kimberly and Juri to the Roster

After a Street Fighter V Top 8 competition for the ages, Capcom graced us with new entries for the Street Fighter 6 roster. Suppose you were around the Street Fighter 6  conversation when the infamous roster leak went around. In that case, these two will look very familiar (which is saying something since Kimberly is a brand-new character). That leak is looking more legit, but more importantly, Street Fighter 6 is looking to be a damn good time. Let’s look at a bright newcomer and a veteran with a real dark side while we wait (impatiently) for Street Fighter 6.

Kimberly is enthusiastic, excited, and she brings a colorful new take on what a ninja in a fighting game looks like. The video showed the newcomer hitting hard, jumping high, and using ninjutsu to dash around the screen bringing the pain. Kimberly’s super starts with a portable cassette player and ends with a frantic flurry of spray paint, and I just cannot get enough of how good this game looks in motion. Kimberly’s movements just drip with energy and personality, and I am excited to get a better look when players get their hands on the game.

Juri, a familiar face for the Street Fighter faithful, was also confirmed in the new trailer. For the unfamiliar, this means smooth, borderline sensual movement, a lot of spinning kicks, and a TON of maniacal laughter. If you loved Juri before, Street Fighter 6 promises to take what you liked about her and turn it up to 11. In particular, Juri’s new super move got people talking, as it features her gently caressing her opponent’s face, with her foot. Juri still has a lighter side, shown here through a win animation that involves sitting on her vanquished opponent before scrolling on her phone while enjoying a lollipop.

Street Fighter 6 will be released in 2023 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Currently, there is no release date, and plenty of characters have yet to be revealed.
