MultiVersus Wonder Woman Guide: Moves and Strategies

By Chris PenwellAugust 1, 2022
Multiversus How to Play Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman is an Amazon warrior that can take out any opponent in her path. Her punches and sword strikes are legendary, but some intense competition stands in her way, and to be honest, she’s a lower tier than most characters in MultiVersus. Here’s how to play Wonder Woman to the best of your ability and an explanation of her moveset.

MultiVersus Wonder Woman Moveset and Best Strategies

Standard moves

Wonder Woman’s first attack, the Sword of Ares, can be performed by pressing the square button (X on Xbox) alone. The hero slashes her weapon towards the foe. A tap of the button does a respectable 7% of damage, while charging the attack causes 10%. It’s one of the character’s best knockback attacks, which she shockingly lacks. Her neutral standard attack in the air has Wonder Woman spinning in place with her shield. This does around 11% of damage and can break armor, such as Superman’s charged punches.

Wonder Woman’s sideways attack (right or left with square or X) releases a combo of a sword hit, a kick, and then a shield bash. When performed correctly, it can do 12% and has some decent knockback to the left or right. You can then follow this move up with a sideways attack in the air. Wonder Woman does a quick swing of her sword that can eliminate opponents that are off the battlefield.

Up and square (X)  has the DC heroine use a charged shield bash that takes her opponents into the sky. It does an okay 5-6% damage, but its primary utility is to start an air combo. We like to pair this attack by using the same input in the sky. Wonder Woman does a kickflip in the air, propelling your foe further into the above aether. Try to daisy chain these attacks, but if you can’t manage to hit the kickflip for the third time, use her shield for an end to the combo with up and triangle (Y). Using up and square (X) on the ground, you can also hold it, making for an excellent knockback generator that can take out high-percentage foes.

Down and square (X) has Diana charging her energy and then releasing it in a circular motion for a move called the Amazon Shout. If you have an opposing team suppressing a specific area, this is an excellent way to push them back into a new location. You and your teammate will also receive armor for a few brief moments in the battle after the blast is successful. The Amazon Shout can be powered up if you block projectiles with her shield move or get hit while armored.

In the air, down and square (X) revolves Wonder Woman spiking her foe with a successful downwards strike of her sword.

Special moves

This is when we start to see Wonder Woman’s iconic weapons. Pressing triangle (or Y) unleashes her lasso of truth, which can pull in your opponents and even your teammates. Pulling an enemy in will slightly stun them as they are dragged towards you. You can then follow it with an attack; we tap up and square (X) for a quick uppercut attack into the air. However, the lasso of truth can also pull in your teammates, so if they are about to fall off the stage, you can save them from losing a stock. Be careful, however, as the cooldown for this move is absurdly long.

Sideways and triangle (Y) has her protecting herself or her allies with a shield bash. It can take out incoming projectiles. If you hold the triangle (Y) button, she’ll keep her shield up as you move back and forth. If Wonder Woman teams up with Shaggy, she can protect him as he charges into his Super Saiyan-like form.

Up and triangle (Y) will make Wonder Woman go into the air with her shield. It can be used as a platform to help your ally reach an opponent that’s airborne, possibly finishing off a stock. It will cause 6% of damage on impact but is not very powerful with its knockback.

Finally, Defense of the Gods (down and triangle (Y)) will have Wonder Woman head to her ally at a fast pace and give both them and her a shield. It will block both damage and knockback for one hit, which could be vital when you’re at a high percentage.

Effective Perks for Wonder Woman

Multiversus How to Play Wonder Woman Perks

  • The Whip of Hephaestus perk improves the lasso of truth, where if the tip of the attack hits an opponent, there will be a powerful knockback. Wonder Woman lacks moves with knockback, so this will be useful.
  • The Coffeezilla perk will reduce the cooldown duration of Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Truth and Defense of the Gods, allowing you to access these moves faster.
  • Up, Up, and A-Slay will make your shield bashes, and main combo more successful as these vertical attacks will improve their damage by 5%.
  • Back To Back will give your team 6% reduced damage if you’re nearby an ally. If you use the shield often to protect your teammate, this will help immensely.
