The next chapter of one of my favorite animes, Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury, is still a bit away from airing. However, Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE, the prequel to the upcoming anime, gives us some insight into this new series and will be broadcast in English.
Granted, I’ve already seen this, but I won’t tell you how. It’s good to see that Gundam English-speaking fans can finally watch this episode, starting September 1st, 2022, on the Gundam Info YouTube channel. If you haven’t been to that channel but enjoy Gundam, head over there. There are various episodes available in both Japanese and English to watch.
Of course, I could spoil the prologue for you, but that would make me a terrible person and ruin the fun, so you’ll have to wait another week to get in on the story. Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury will air starting October 2022, so we have quite some time before seeing the show.
Still, I can tell you that this anime will feature the youngest mobile suit pilot ever in any of the Gundam shows. Her name is Suletta Mercury, and I haven’t figured out what this story is going to be about. But it is a Gundam show, so it will be heavy on the action, heavy on self-reflection, and of course, lots of political stuff.
I mean, there hasn’t been a political Gundam anime outside of the Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam Build Divers. Speaking of which, we could use a new Gundam Build Fighters show, but keep that Divers nonsense away from me.
