Danganronpa-inspired Social Thriller Inescapable Announced At Anime Expo 2022

During Anime Expo 2022, developer Dreamloop Games shared some details on its upcoming title Inescapable during Aksys’s Anime Expo 2022 panel.

According to Dreamlopp, Inescapable has been described as a social thriller title that the Danganronpa series have heavily inspired. The premise players will assume the role of Harrison, who’ll compete with several other contestants in a contest set on a tropical island resort.

However, these contestants weren’t willingly brought here and were all kidnapped and forced to play in this twisted game. The winner of this contest will be rewarded in the sum of $500,00.00. There’s just one catch – there are no rules and no way off the island. Which seems to put a bit of a damper on the whole situation. That’s a lot of money, and we all know that money has a way of changing people. I get the idea that not everyone is making it off this island, at least not alive.

“We’ve spent the last few years honing our skills and storing up a lot of creative energy for Inescapable.” “Now, with Inescapable in development, we’re taking the first steps toward showing the world that we make great games with heart and teeth.” said Joni Lappalainen, Dreamloop’s founder and CEO.

Now, Harrison isn’t just playing a game to win some money. Instead, he’s fighting to survive any number of contestants, and whatever traps lie in this tropical paradise gone rogue. Will you show off for clout? Will you put your needs above others just to increase your following? Inescapable will test your limits and see just how far you’ll go when there aren’t any rules to stop you from doing whatever you want. But ultimately, someone is behind the scenes, orchestrating the event. But will you care, or will you continue to enjoy a sadistic rampage or be too busy trying to survive?

Currently, Dreamloop is targeting a 2023 release window for Inescapable, and will release the title on be released in 2023 for the PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
