The Callisto Protocol was shown during the June 2022 State of Play, a gameplay trailer was released, alongside the release date reveal. The Callisto Protocol will be released as of December 2, 2022. Fingers crossed that the game doesn’t hit a delay snag.

With the release of this trailer, we also got some story elements as well. It would seem that the main character is trapped in a prison of sorts. Players will take the role of Jacob Lee, played by Josh Duhamel, while being taunted by someone, under the guise of saying his life and given a chance at being reborn? All while trying to survive while being hunted by some intense and grotesque creatures called Biophage.
There’s plenty of survival horror here, and it definitely gives me Dead Space vibes, which only makes sense. Glen Schofield, the creator of The Callisto Protocol, is also the creator of Dead Space. So when he couldn’t work on Dead Space anymore, since EA owns that license, he went on to other things.
The Callisto Protocol is in development by Striking Distance Studios, and will be heading to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
