New The Callisto Protocol Gameplay shown during Summer Game Fest

While we got a short look at The Callisto Protocol gameplay during the State of Play, today we received an extended look.

Thanks to the Summer Game Fest 2022, we got to see the creator of the game and Dead Space, Glen Schoefield, take control of the protagonist, Jacob Lee.

During this gameplay, we got to see a new weapon in action called the Grip. This weapon allows you to pull and push enemies and lets you get creative on how you want to finish them off. It’s similar to Dead Space’s telekinesis powers.

Of course, what would The Callisto Protocol be without a gruesome death, and we’re treated to a rather disturbing one to close out the gameplay look. Jacob gets too close to a turbine, gets sucked into it, and ultimately gets shredded. If you’ve played Dead Space, this should make you happy – if it is a bit sick.

As a fan of Dead Space, I’ve been looking forward to seeing more of this game in action. I would have loved to have seen more, but I’ll take what I can get.

Take a look at the gameplay below.

The Callisto Protocol is in development by Striking Distance Studios and will be released on December 2nd, 2022, for PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
