Nintendo Switch Sports Data Teasing Two More Sports Addition?

By Todd BlackMarch 2, 2022
Nintendo Switch Sports

To some, Nintendo Switch Sports is being seen as nothing more than just a sequel to Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort and an attempt to cash in on what that franchise did for the Wii (which was sell a LOT of units). But it’s clear that Nintendo is at the very least TRYING to make this as good as Wii Sports was once upon a time. The recent online playtest (as discussed on the most recent Nintendo Entertainment Podcast) was solid enough, and we already now that there’s going to be a free update involving bringing gold into the game.

But now, on Twitter, a datamine has been revealed and it’s teasing that two more games could be added later on. When you add these two and golf, that would bring the total playable games to nine. Which…is actually robust. Obviously Nintendo hasn’t confirmed this, but if they’re willing to add one new game via a free update, why not more?

Nintendo Switch Sports will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on April 29th.

Another interesting thing found while datamining Switch Sports, the game references both "Basketball" and "Dodgeball" alongside the other playable sports. Could very well just be scrapped content, but mayyybe a potential future update? pic.twitter.com/mJb4SbaYM4
