Super Smash Bros is a franchise that was without a doubt made for the fans. Especially once it reached a level of popularity that had fans foaming at the mouth for a new character reveal. Nintendo over time revealed these characters in various ways. Including the Smash Bros Dojo during the days of Brawl. But starting with the Wii U/3DS versions, they went full-force into making character reveal trailers to really give a sense of hype and love to each character that was coming.
And now, head of the game Masahiro Sakurai himself has released the first of a two-part series where he outlines the character trailers in Super Smash Bros, and through that, gives unique insight into what went into making each character reveal. Part 1 deals with the Wii U/3DS trailers, and so you can expect Ultimate to show up soon enough.
