Elden Ring Update 1.02.2 For PC Addresses The Micro Stutter Issues

Fromsoftware has released yet another update for Elden Ring on PC to eliminate those nasty micro stutters. This patch, 1.0.2.2, went live for the PC and PlayStation 5 as of March 1st, 2022. But does it do what Fromsoftware claims?

So far, I haven’t noticed any micro-stutters as I continued to bang my head against the wall known as Melania, Blade of Miquella. Just be sure, I went and fast traveled to Liurnia of the Lakes and played with the lobsters for a bit. While my framerate wasn’t a constant 60, it varied from 57-60 FPS, the micro stutters that I noticed in that zone before weren’t there. Or at least I couldn’t notice them. Here’s to hoping that everyone else who were experiencing the micro stutters will notice that patch 1.02.2 worked for them as well. As for the fix, Fromsoftware has merely stated, “Elden Ring, micro stutter, PC, Bandai Namco.”

During my review of Elden Ring, I had mentioned that I would experience micro-stutters every so often. Then, other reviewers had chimed in, saying they had experienced the same thing, and it didn’t take long for the issue to become common with everyone who purchased the PC version. Then with the Elden Ring 1.02 patch, things seemed to take a turn for the worse.

(1/2)

Patch 1.02.2 for PC and PS5 available now.

PC:
💠Fixed an issue where the graphics card was not being used, resulting in slow performance.
💠Fixed a bug that caused the game to quit under certain conditions during a battle with the Fire Giant.
💠Fixed other bugs.

It’s still to early to see if this has fixed the issues for everyone. Another issue that was addressed was with the Fire Giant fight. While the fix states a bug was fixed that caused the game to quit, it meant that if you were horseback during the transition to the second phase, the game would crash. I can’t confirm if this is fixed or not as I’m past that fight.
