Kirby 30th Anniversary Having A “Variety Of Projects” In The Works

By Todd BlackFebruary 4, 2022
Kirby: Star Allies

You may not realize it, but the Kirby franchise is easily one of the most robust in the Nintendo roster. Because between the mainline titles and the LARGE number of spinoff or side games, the pink puffball has been around. And his adventures aren’t ending anytime soon as he has a major coming up next month. But if Nintendo is to be believed, that’s not all we should expect from Kirby this year.

During the recent financial briefing, Nintendo teased that a lot more might be in the works:

“This year also marks Kirby’s 30th anniversary. To celebrate that anniversary, we are planning a variety of projects in collaboration with the Kirby developer HAL Laboratory, aimed at sharing the charm of the Kirby series with many people.”

Given how big Nintendo went for the recent Mario and Zelda anniversaries, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised they’re doing this. But when we’ll get the announcements for these new games is unknown. In the meantime, we do know that Kirby and the Forgotten Land is coming out on March 25th, so we can at the very least be excited that this title is almost out.
