Elden Ring Guide: Where to Acquire the Spirit Calling Bell

By Keith MitchellFebruary 24, 2022

While you may already be familiar with the Spirit Ashes, in Elden Ring, you still need a specific item before they can be used. That item is known as the Spirit Calling Bell or what we refer to as the Summoning Bell. It’s pretty easy to get but also easy to miss. In this guide, we’ll explain how to get this Spirit Calling Bell so that you’ll have some company on your journey in the Lands Between

Where to find the Spirit Calling Bell

To get the Spirit Bell, you must first have a conversation with Melina, which will activate once you unlock the Site of Grace near the Gatefront. It’s here that you’ll also be provided access to your mount, Torrent, and the ability to level up your character. Once that’s out of the way, you’ll need to go to the Church of Elleh.

Once there, you’ll notice a new NPC has taken residence at the location. You’ll need to speak to her, and she’ll start her dialogue.

During this conversation, she’ll reward you with both the Spirit Calling Bell and your first Spirit Ashes, the Lone Wolf Ashes.

With the Spirit Calling Bell in hand, you’ll be able to call forth these spirits to provide additional offense. You’ll need to equip the Spirit of Ashes in your inventory slots or quick select slots to use them.

However, you can only call them during specific points, such as boss fights/encounters. They also will use your FP, and some of the Spirit Ashes you find will require a lot of FP, some over 100. So be sure you add some points to your Mind stat.

Thanks for reading our Elden Ring guide! Be sure to stop back often as we have more to help you during your stay in the Lands Between.
