Pokemon Legends Arceus Has 4th Largest Series Launch In UK

By Todd BlackJanuary 31, 2022
Pokemon Legends Arceus Pokemon Presents

Pokemon Legends Arceus in many ways is going to start a trend for Nintendo this year, as it’s the first of MANY big releases coming out in 2022. And no doubt Nintendo is going to be happy to hear that it’s already doing well sales-wise, especially in the UK. Including doing better than a certain other set of Pokemon titles.

You see, according to  Christopher Dring of GamesIndustry.biz, Pokemon Legends Arceus had the 4th biggest launch in the UK, including doing better than Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. And per usual, the digital sales weren’t included, so the number is instantly higher. Also, Dring said that 50% of all boxed game sales in the UK was Arceus.

All of this is very impressive, especially when you remember that with most Pokemon mainline games, they have dual copies that help elevate sales as a whole, but Arceus is just a singular title. We’ll have our review of Arceus soon, so stay tuned!

Biggest Pokemon UK launches (GfK data).

1. Sun/Moon
2. Sword/Shield
3. Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby
4. Legends: Arceus
5. Black/White
6. Shining Pearl/Brilliant Diamond
7. X&Y
8. Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu
9. Yellow
10. Heart Gold and Soul Silver

Digital data is not included.
