Pokemon Legends Arceus Gets Massive Gameplay Preview

By Todd BlackJanuary 13, 2022
Pokemon Legends Arceus, Pokemon Legends Z-A

Without a doubt, one of the biggest questions about Pokemon Legends Arceus is not about the quality of the game (though some have doubted the visuals at times), but rather, how it will work in terms of gameplay, and how it’ll feel in comparison with the mainline Pokemon titles. We’ve seen glimpses of this answer, but today, we got an in-depth one. You wanted Pokemon Legends Arceus gameplay, and it has been delivered!

Because a massive 13-minute gameplay preview has been released, and it shows just how deep Pokemon Legends Arceus is aiming to be. For example, we see not only the new perspective that trainers will have as they walk through Hisui, but how they’ll be able to use materials and their Pokemon in the region outside of just having battles.

Just as important is that how you interact with Pokemon is much different in this game than the mainline titles. You can catch Pokemon by sneaking up on them, distracting them with items, and not needing to battle them at all. If they enter an “alert state” you must battle in order to catch them. Plus, as other trailers have shown, the Pokemon in Hisui will be able to attack YOU the trainer! And as such, if you take too much damage from them, you’ll blackout.

Check out the full gameplay preview below! Pokemon Legends Arceus has a release date of January 28th, 2022 , for the Nintendo Switch.
