Pokemon GO Causes Police Officers To Get Fired

By Todd BlackJanuary 11, 2022
Pokemon Go

When Pokemon GO first came out, and people realized just how addictive it was, they went to great lengths to capture Pokemon in the game, for better and for worse. This included trespassing, falling into things, and my personal favorite, falling off of a cliff! For real. But…it’s been years since the game has come out so SURELY something stupid like that hasn’t happened again…right?

Wrong…mostly. Apparently, this story happened in 2017 and is only making the rounds now. It has to do with FORMER Los Angeles police officers Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell. Their crime? That would be, “willfully abdicating their duty to assist a commanding officer’s response to a robbery in progress and playing a Pokemon mobile game while on duty.”

Naturally, they’re talking about Pokemon GO. What happened was that they were called to help stop a robbery, and ignored it…because a Snorlax was nearby and they felt they would rather capture that Pokemon than help people in need.

There was evidence to prove that this happened, and they were fired due to it. What a world we live in.
