Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Heads to the Big Screen In March 2022

Jujutsu Kaisen has been a hit with the anime crowd, and it looks as if the upcoming movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, will continue that trend.

Announced earlier today by Crunchyroll, the upcoming movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will arrive in theaters on March 18, 2022. This dark fantasy film from TOHO Animation will be viewable in subtitled, and English dubbed formats when it debuts in over 1500 theaters nationwide. I know you can’t wait to rush to theaters, but keep in mind that tickets won’t go on sale until February 25, 2022.

While most anime watchers are familiar with the Jujutsu Kaisen cast, the movie will tell a tale that hasn’t been animated. Hence the name Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will introduce Yuta Okkotsu, an awkward high school student who enrolls in the mysterious Tokyo Jujutsu High School under the guidance of Satoru Gojo. You see, Yuta Okkotsu has been cursed after witnessing the death of his friend and the person he was destined to marry, Rika Orimoto, during a horrific traffic accident.

When I mean cursed, I mean Rika’s spirit has refused to go to the great beyond. Instead, she stays behind to protect him. Instead of behind the once sweet girl, Riki has become a monstrous entity who protects him, regardless of whether he wants her to or not. That’s some real, yet, crazy love. And yeah, this is Jujutsu Kaisen, after all.

The Japanese subtitled film will include talents such as Megumi Ogata (Yuta Okkotsu), Kana Hanazawa (Rika Orimoto), Mikako Komatsu (Maki Zen), Koki Uchiyama (Toge Inumaki), Tomokazu Seki (Panda), Yuichi Nakamura (Satoru Gojo), and Takahiro Sakurai (Suguru Geto).

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Zero) is based on the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga series, which you can find at your favorite anime and manga stores.
