Best Buy is including an Elden Ring steelbook case with preorders

By Keith MitchellDecember 10, 2021

I love me some sexy Steelbook cases.

Best Buy has just come to the aid of everyone who wanted the Elden Ring steelbook but missed out on the Collector’s Editions. Thanks to the ever-sharp eyes of Twitter user Wario64, it was noticed that Best Buy is now adding a steelbook case to all Elden Ring preorders. This covers both the standard editions and those who were able to acquire the collector’s edition before they sold out.

If you’re already preordered Elden Ring from Best Buy, there’s nothing extra you’ll need to do. I’ve already checked on my preorder and the steelbook was retroactively added to my order. The same should happen for you. To be on the safe side, be sure to check out your preorders at the store.

What’s different from this Elden Ring Steelbook?

There’s quite a difference between the steelbook case that is included with the Elden Ring collector’s and premium editions, and this one being provided by Best Buy. The original steelbook case is brown, with the Elden Ring symbol adorned on it. This one that Best Buy is offering looks considerably better. Not only is the steelbook case color white, which is more appealing. It also includes an image of a character holding an ax (axe?) and a massive, yet majestic lion.

At first, I thought this was the Lion Guardian that we’ve seen in the Elden Ring closed network test. Except, they look completely different. Chances are this is a boss that will be featured in the game. If you happen to know who this character is, please let me know.

Either way, I’d much rather have this case. A big thanks to Bandai Namco and Best Buy for putting this steelbook case deal together.

Elden Ring is scheduled to be released on February 25, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
