Shoot! Soccer Manga Receives First TV Anime in 28 Years

By Josh PiedraNovember 17, 2021

Imagine being an anime fan in 1993. Now imagine being a soccer anime fan and stumbling across the adaptation of the Shoot! manga. Now imagine wishing for a new season and having it never come…. until 2022.

That’s exactly what is happening as Shoot! is slated to get a brand-new anime series next year that will depict events after the manga and first tv anime! The official title is Shoot! Goal to the Future and it comes with a key visual that you can check out below:

The series is described as follows:

Atsushi Kamiya, a former captain at Kakegawa High School and the world-renowned “courageous captain” for a famous Italian soccer team…

And Hideto Tsuji, a student at Kakegawa High School, who seems uninterested in the now-weakened soccer team…

Their meeting is the start of a new legend…

Toei Animation handled the original 1993 anime; however, EMT Squared will be handling it this time around.
