OddBug Studios Hold Studio Bonuses Hostage

By Ryan EasbyNovember 25, 2021

Oddbug Studios, the developer of Tails of Iron, is currently holding the bonuses of their workers hostage in some kind of weird attempt to make their critic score’s higher.

In a move echoing that of Bethesda during the release of Fallout: New Vegas, OddBug Studio has tweeted out the news that they’re holding back bonuses for their team based on the fact that their critic scores are a mere three points short. Bafflingly, they’ve also chosen to tag segments of gaming media in their tweet, thus proving that this is merely a ploy to try and gain favour with reviewers in some weird, backwards plot. Quite why they think that threatening to give the development team less money if critics don’t give their game a higher score remains to be seen.

For those not in the know, Bethesda decided to not give bonuses to Obsidian Games when the Metacritic score for Fallout: New Vegas fell beneath the threshold of what they expected for the game. The move was greatly criticised by gaming media at large, yet ‘score bonuses’ remain an everpresent and disgusting practice that needs to stop.

UPDATE: Oddbug Studios deleted the above tweet, which can be seen in a screenshot below.
