Netflix’s gaming app is rolling out for Android and iOS devices tomorrow

By Keith MitchellNovember 2, 2021
Netflix gaming app for Android and iOS

Today, Netflix announced that it would start rolling out its new gaming mobile app for Android and iOS on November 3rd, 2021. This app will “provide access to exclusive games, with no ads, or additional fees and no in-app purchases. To access these games, you need to be a member of the Netflix service.

🎮📱 Let the Games Begin📱🎮

Tomorrow, Netflix Games will start rolling out on the Netflix mobile app. First on Android, with iOS on the way.

It’s early days, but we’re excited to start bringing you exclusive games, with no ads, no additional fees and no in-app purchases. pic.twitter.com/ofNGF4b8At

With this new app, Netflix has also announced the first couple of games that will be playable on Android and iOS devices; Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. These games are just the beginning, as Netflix has promised that more games will be released for Netflix gaming.

Here are the five games available to download and play, with a whole lot more coming!

Currently, this app is only available for mobile devices, though I’m sure someone will figure out how to sideload it — It never fails. Also, while Netflix Gaming is only for Android and iOS, you will be able to play the games with a Bluetooth controller.

It wasn’t that long ago that Netflix has announced it was getting into the gaming business, and now they’re finally ready to dive headfirst. It’s ironic that the service that started the catalog of gaming services, such as Xbox Game Pass, is finally getting involved themselves. It will be interesting to see what exclusive games will arrive on Netflix Gaming and if they’ll be worthwhile.
