Chris Pratt’s Mario Voice For Super Mario Movie Is Apparently “Phenomenal”

By Todd BlackNovember 23, 2021

There’s a lot going on in the world of video game movies right now. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is coming out next year with Idris Elba being Knuckles this time around. Resident Evil is about to have yet another movie adaptation. And then, at the tail end of 2022, there will be the Super Mario Movie. Something that has been in the works for a LONG time. Heading up the voice acting cast is none other than Chris Pratt…as Mario.

Yeah, we’re still wrapping our heads around it too. But apparently, some people attached to the movie aren’t just thrilled about this happening, they’re praising Chris Pratt something fierce for how his Mario voice sounds.

Speaking to toofab in a recent interview, Illumination Entertainment producer Chris Meledandri, who is one of the leads behind the film, noted the following:

“All I can tell you is the voice that he’s doing for us, and Mario, is phenomenal. Yeah, I can’t wait for people to hear it,” Melandari said.

Also, the Super Mario Movie will apparently address why Mario sounds so different in the film compared to his gaming appearances. With no release date for a trailer so far, we’ll just have to wait and see and pray that it is indeed as good as it’s being advertised as.
