Nintendo Switch Will NOT Get Price Cut In US, Says Nintendo

Fans of Nintendo have been abuzz in recent days because of something that happened overseas. You see, as we noted previously, the Nintendo Switch was confirmed to be getting a permanent price drop over there, and by a somewhat significant margin. So naturally, fans wondered, will the US and other regions be getting the same treatment?

Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case, because Nintendo made an official statement on the matter and said:

“The trade price adjustment is for the European region only,” said Nintendo. “There are no plans to change the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for any Nintendo Switch model in the U.S.”

So this is not going to happen here. Many thought it would because of the upcoming Nintendo Switch OLED edition that’s coming out in a few weeks, but not so. If things do change, we’ll let you know.
