State Of Decay 2 Returns To Where It All Began

By Ryan EasbyAugust 24, 2021

The zombies were really out in full force during the Xbox Gamescom show today. First, we had brand new Dying Light 2 gameplay and then we had the reveal of a brand new update for State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition.

The game is returning to the map of the original State of Decay game, only this time it’s fully remastered and ready for players of State of Decay 2 to take out the shambling undead. It was teased that Trumbull Valley will reflect the passage of time throughout the apocalypse, and will resolve plot threads that have been running for a long time, satisfying long-time fans of the series.

In addition to discussing the brand new addition to State Of Decay 2, the developers revealed that State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition has had over ten million players since it launched, showing that people keep coming back to the game over and over again regardless of how long it has been since launch. It’s clear that the fact the game is available on Xbox Game Pass has likely helped with this metric, and it proves that Xbox Game Pass is an incredible feat for visibility.

The showcase also revealed that players will have access to six news bases, with unique weapons and outfits found throughout the valley. For those looking for more substance, new missions and new achievements are also available for people who dare to travel into somewhere so long abandoned and left to rot. The Homecoming update launches September 1st and is free for all owners of State Of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition and is included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
